Training Programs for Telemedicine

AFHCAN Telehealth Training Program

Our series of three 10 week courses take learners through the full spectrum of telehealth and telehealth program man- agement. The first course, Understanding Telehealth & the Role of the Telehealth Coordinator, provides students an overview of telehealth and the basic knowledge necessary to understand the role of the telehealth coordinator includ- ing various telehealth applications, specialty uses, rural impact, case management, business aspects, and much more.

The second course, Becoming a Certified Telehealth Coordinator, builds on the knowledge and concepts learned in the first course by providing the student the skills & tools needed to support the use of telehealth in a health care organization.

Arizona Telemedicine Training Program

The Arizona Telemedicine Training Program providesHands-on Traininginstruction in the many aspects of running a telemedicine program.

The Arizona Telemedicine Training Program offers two full-day training sessions and is accredited by the American Telemedicine Association. 

Track 1 is Developing a Telemedicine Program.

Track 2 is Telemedicine Applications.

UC Davis Health System – Center for Health and Technology

Having trained over 1,750 community-based health care providers and administrators at our facility in Sacramento, as well as over 900 participants who have taken our courses at the American Telemedicine Association Conferences, the Center for Health and Technology has developed internationally acclaimed telemedicine and ehealth curriculum.

The Center for Health and Technology’s Telehealth Education Program is accredited by the American Telemedicine Association.

A two day course is also offered at the Center for Health and Technology.

This two-day course begins with an executive overview, a high-level introduction to telemedicine and is designed for administrators, physicians, IT specialists, and operation managers who would like to establish a new or expand an existing telehealth program.  Participants are guided through various aspects including strategic planning, clinical, operational and technical considerations, as well as legal issues valuable to know when implementing a telemedicine program.

Day two offers attendees educational tracks on clinical operations and technical systems.  Participants will select the track of their choice and receive an in-depth, hands-on experience in their area of interest.
