List of Health Information Exchanges

Idaho

The mission of the Idaho Health Data Exchange (IHDE) is to improve the coordination and quality of healthcare in Idaho by enhancing the timeliness and accuracy with which providers receive patient health information.

We are accomplishing this mission through the development of a health information exchange system, which will electronically deliver secure, accurate, and comprehensive patient information to the point of care for providers and patients.

Idaho’s health information exchange system is a step toward achieving the federal government’s goal of creating a value-driven healthcare system through the development of a nationwide interoperable health information technology infrastructure, as stated in Executive Order 13410.

Montana

HealthShare Montana is the designated health information exchange organization for our state. Our goal is to support, promote and encourage the exchange of secure and reliable health information among stakeholders and regional networks to improve the safety, quality, and efficiency of healthcare. HealthShare Montana has established a partnership with DocSite/Covisint and has begun building the electronic infrastructure necessary to be able to exchange healthcare information in two phases: Phase 1, Secure Messaging and Phase 2, robust exchange with CDR (clinical data repository).  Both phases of HIE will be made available in the 2nd and 3rd quarter of 2011.
